How to cancel your ChatGPT subscription

Cancel in ChatGPT under Settings, then Billing, or in Apple or Google Play if you subscribed there, at least 24 hours before the next billing date. Paid features last until the period ends. Payments are generally non-refundable. Deleting the app, or your account, does not cancel an Apple subscription.

  • Chat history and other account data: Open Settings, then Data controls; under Export data choose Export, then Confirm export, and wait for the download link (ZIP file). Can take up to 7 days; ChatGPT sends an email or SMS when it's ready, and the download link expires 24 hours after you receive it.
