Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Free plan Stay on Spotify free: you keep your playlists and saved music and can still play with ads support.spotify.com
  • Cheaper plan Basic, for existing Premium subscribers who see it as an available plan on their account page (Manage your plan, then Change plan): it drops the monthly audiobook listening time (the help page doesn't list its price). If you later cancel Basic, you can't resubscribe to it support.spotify.com
  • Student or nonprofit price Premium Student is $6.99 a month in the US for eligible students, with access to Hulu spotify.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • A Family or Duo member who follows the cancel steps only leaves the plan; the plan stays active
  • If the account page shows no option to change plan, a partner such as a phone or internet provider bills you
  • Premium can't be bought in the iPhone or iPad app
  • Cancelling during a $0 free trial ends Premium immediately, and that trial can't be reactivated
  • You can also cancel by completing Spotify's cancellation form (spotify.com/account/cancel/pdf/) and sending it to Spotify

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/spotify.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.

Delete your account (separate from cancelling)

Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated medium).
