The short answer
- Where: In your Segment workspace, go to Settings, then Usage & Billing, then Plans.
- When it ends: Cancelling or downgrading during the 2-week trial costs nothing. A monthly Team plan ends with a final prorated bill for the $120 base plus any MTUs over the 10,000 included.
- Contract notice: At least 30 days' prior written notice. How to give notice
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Free plan The Free plan includes up to 1,000 MTUs at no cost; going over once in 6 months locks the account, though data still flows twilio.com
- Student or nonprofit price Nonprofits can get a $120-a-month discount on the monthly Team plan, redeemable at any time; contact Segment's support team with proof of non-profit status twilio.com
For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Deleting your user account doesn't cancel the subscription: the workspace holds the subscription and isn't deleted
- Keep data from flowing after you cancel (delete the workspace or cycle write keys), or it can create further charges
- Cancelling or downgrading during the 2-week Team trial costs nothing
- A Team trial with payment details added continues automatically at the regular rate when the trial ends
- A nonprofit discount ends with the promotion: the bill then returns to the normal rate
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/segment.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
