How to cancel OpenPhone (now Quo)

Quo (formerly OpenPhone): in Settings, open Plan & billing, scroll down, click Cancel Subscription, type Cancel and click Yes, cancel. The workspace stays active to the end of the billing period. Gotcha: port your numbers out first (they're held at most 30 days), and payments already made aren't refunded.

The short answer

  • Where: First port out any numbers you want to keep (ask support to hold them during the port), and export contacts, call logs and messages.
  • When it ends: The workspace stays fully active until the end of the current billing period.
  • Contract notice: No later than 30 days before the term expires; otherwise it renews for another term of the same length. How to give notice
  • Before you go: export Contacts (with names, numbers and custom properties), call logs and message logs. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Contacts (with names, numbers and custom properties), call logs and message logs: A workspace Owner exports them under Settings, General (CSV files). Only Owners can export. Call recordings, audio files, transcripts and AI summaries aren't included. The CSV files arrive by email within 24 hours, and the download link expires after 72 hours. Data is kept only 30 days after cancelling, so export first support.quo.com
  • All customer data: Ask Quo for a complete download, before termination or within 30 days after it. The Terms say Quo may provide it on request, and may delete the data 90 days after termination quo.com

What happens to your data

Workspace data is kept for 30 days after cancelling. The Terms allow Quo to delete customer data irretrievably 90 days after termination; a full download can be requested before, or within 30 days after, termination.

What you lose

  • Your Quo phone numbers, unless you port them out: they're held for at most 30 days after cancelling (the Terms say no more than 45 days after termination)
  • Call recordings and audio files, which the export doesn't include
  • Workspace data, 30 days after cancelling

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Cheaper plan Move to a cheaper plan, such as Starter: downgrades are scheduled for your next renewal, and you keep the current plan's features until then support.quo.com
  • Fewer seats Remove members you don't need: their access ends at once, the seat stays until the billing period ends, and Quo removes it at renewal so the next bill drops. You can fill the seat with a replacement at no extra charge support.quo.com
  • Pay yearly Annual billing lowers the per-user price (Starter is billed annually at $180 per user) quo.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Port numbers out before cancelling: a completed port doesn't cancel the subscription, and you pay until the port completes
  • Ask support to hold your numbers while a port is in progress; Quo sends the details your new carrier needs within 24 to 48 business hours
  • Removing a member mid-cycle ends their access at once but doesn't lower the bill until renewal
  • If a payment fails, Quo retries 5 times, then cancels the subscription and keeps the numbers for 14 days
  • Quo says you never have to call to cancel: do it in the app

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/openphone.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.

Delete your account (separate from cancelling)

Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated hard).
