How to cancel Loom

Atlassian-billed Loom ('Your Profile is linked to Atlassian' in Personal Settings): a billing or organization admin deactivates it in Atlassian Admin, Billing, Subscriptions. Legacy billing: Workspace Settings, Plan & Billing, Manage Subscription, Downgrade to Starter. It ends at the cycle's end. Download videos first: Starter can't download.

The short answer

  • Where: In Loom, open the Atlassian Admin portal from the left sidebar and select Billing.
  • When it ends: At the end of your billing cycle; you keep paid features until then.
  • Contract notice: Any time before the end of the current subscription term (Atlassian Customer Agreement) How to give notice
  • Before you go: export Your Loom videos. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Your Loom videos: Go to the video in your Library, select the menu icon above it, then Download from the dropdown menu (MP4). Needs a paid plan: admins and creators on Starter (free) can't download, and Creator Lites can't on any plan, so download before the plan ends. Videos over 20GB can't be downloaded support.atlassian.com

What happens to your data

After downgrading, existing videos stay accessible even above the 25-video Starter limit. Deleting the account deletes videos, transcripts and view counts within a reasonable period, with backups kept up to 30 days; after a contract ends, Atlassian deletes Customer Data according to its documentation.

What you lose

  • Recordings longer than 5 minutes, and new recordings once you have 25 videos
  • Engagement Insights for videos
  • Custom branding: share pages return to default settings
  • Creating new spaces (existing spaces stay)
  • Single Sign-On, which is disabled
  • Paid capabilities for members: everyone is limited to Creator Lite recording, editing and sharing
  • Downloading videos (Starter can't download)

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Free plan The free Starter plan has a 5-minute recording limit and a 25-video limit (screenshots unlimited). If you already have more than 25 videos you keep access to them, but you can't record new ones at the limit support.atlassian.com support.atlassian.com
  • Fewer seats Business pricing is based on the number of Creators, and Creator Lite accounts are always free. Deactivating a paid member takes effect immediately and forfeits that seat's unused time, with no prorated refund support.atlassian.com support.atlassian.com
  • Student or nonprofit price Verified teachers, professors and students get up to 50% off premium plans for general academic use, or 75% off for specific classroom use support.atlassian.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Retention step: Both flows ask for a cancellation or downgrade reason before the final button (Cancel subscription or Complete cancellation)
  • Check Personal Settings first: 'Your Profile is linked to Atlassian' means the Atlassian Admin portal route; otherwise use Workspace Settings, Plan & Billing
  • Download videos before the plan ends: Starter (free) can't download
  • Only Atlassian billing admins and organization admins can cancel Atlassian-managed Loom subscriptions
  • With more than one Loom subscription, note the Transaction Account ID to pick the right one
  • Members added or upgraded since your last bill are still charged (prorated), and that charge can appear the same day you cancel
  • Deleting the account requires downgrading to Starter first; deleted videos can't be recovered
  • A Business trial that isn't continued simply loses Business features

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/loom.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
