- Where: Sign in to app.later.com on a desktop browser (app.later.com).
- When it ends: The plan is cancelled when the current billing cycle ends; you keep access until then.
- Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: Apple.
- Before you go: export Images and videos in your Media Library. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- Images and videos in your Media Library: Desktop: open the media, right-click it and choose Save Image As. iOS app: Media, tap Select, choose items, tap the download icon. Android app: open one item, tap the three dots, then Save to Camera Roll. What happens to your data
The account moves back to the free plan rather than being deleted. Deleting the account permanently removes scheduled posts, media and account data (iOS subscribers must downgrade to free first). Later's privacy policy says it keeps data at least as long as you have an account and only as long as necessary.
What you lose
- Publishing of existing posts over the free plan's permitted volume once the paid plan ends
- Paid add-ons (extra users and social sets) at the end of the billing cycle
- Extra users, Social Sets and Access Groups: once the plan is cancelled, Later prompts you to remove them to keep using the account
- Analytics beyond the Free plan level, which the help page says you lose immediately
Cancel, by who bills you
Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Cheaper plan Move to a lower-priced plan in Settings, Subscription (to leave the Scale plan, ask Later's support team); the change applies at the start of the next billing cycle and you keep the current plan until then help.later.com help.later.com help.later.com
- Fewer seats Remove extra Users or Social Sets add-ons (Settings, Subscription, Change, use the minus icons, Update Plan); just removing a user or Social Set from the account doesn't lower the fee. You keep add-ons until the cycle ends, with no refund for unused time. Add-ons exist only for desktop sign-ups help.later.com
- Pay yearly An annual subscription saves 25% compared with monthly later.com
- Student or nonprofit price Qualified non-profit organizations get 50% off the annual Growth plan later.com

For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Retention step: In the iOS app, you answer a series of questions before the final Cancel Subscription; the web flow's prompts aren't described
- Cancel on the platform you signed up on: web sign-ups on desktop, iOS in-app sign-ups through Apple
- Downgrading to a free plan counts as a cancellation
- A free trial is charged on its last day unless you cancel before then; cancelling keeps the trial's features for the rest of the 14 days, and you can't start another trial
- Deleting the account permanently removes scheduled posts and media; switch to the free plan instead if you want to keep them
- The Terms also let you cancel by contacting Later's customer support team
- If you remove a social profile meaning to re-add it, re-add it (or transfer it) within 30 days to keep its scheduled posts
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/later.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
