The short answer
- Where: Go to Account, then Billing & subscription (hunter.io).
- When it ends: You keep the paid plan until the end of the current billing period (for a yearly plan, the end of the yearly term); then the account switches to the Free plan.
- Before you go: export Saved leads (people) and companies. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Pause and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- Saved leads (people) and companies: Select the leads, then choose Export under the three dots; for companies, the Export button appears as soon as you select them (CSV). Companies: up to 100,000 per export on paid plans, 100 on the Free plan; no limit for leads from people lists; larger exports are emailed help.hunter.io
What happens to your data
Your account, contacts, leads, sequences and data are kept (the account moves to the Free plan): nothing is deleted.
What you lose
- Paid-plan credits: the Free plan has 50 monthly credits
- Company exports above 100 per export
- Running sequences: they pause when the paid plan ends

Keep it for less

- Pause Pause a monthly All-in-one Outreach plan (Starter, Growth, Scale) for 1, 2 or 3 months with Pause plan on the plan card. For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Only the team owner can cancel, pause or change the plan
- Cancel before the renewal charge: even a few hours late means paying for the next period, with no refund
- Add-ons (extra email account slots, domains, Inbox Protection) renew separately: cancel them from the Details tab tables
- Credit packs stay valid for 3 months from purchase, whatever happens to the subscription
- Monthly outreach plans can be paused for 1 to 3 months instead of cancelled
- Enterprise plans can only be cancelled after the contract's minimum committed duration: contact the Account Manager
- If the subscription owner has left, email contact@hunter.io from a company address with the previous owner's name and email
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/hunter.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
Delete your account (separate from cancelling)
Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated easy).
