Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Fewer seats Gather 2.0: remove members, then open Billing Dashboard, Manage billing, Update Seats and save a lower count. Removed seats become a credit toward your next invoice; seats can't go below the number of members. support.help.gather.town
- Pay yearly Annual billing is $12 per user per month, against $15 on monthly billing, per Gather's 2025 pricing update. support.gather.town
- Discount program Gather's Classic (1.0) help center says non-profit and educational spaces may get 30% off a monthly subscription; contact sales to see if your space qualifies. support.gather.town
For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Check which Gather you pay for: Gather 2.0 is cancelled from the Billing Dashboard, Gather 1.0 from the Space Dashboard, and changes on one don't apply to the other.
- Only an Admin can cancel or change the subscription.
- Cancel before the renewal date: a renewal you didn't cancel first is non-refundable.
- The Terms also accept cancellation in writing to support@gather.town.
- Deleting your account is not the same as cancelling: associated spaces may stay accessible, especially if they have other admins.
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/gather.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
Delete your account (separate from cancelling)
Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated hard).
