The short answer
- Where: Sign in, open your organization settings and go to Plans and Billing.
- When it ends: At the start of the next billing period: the first day of the following month for monthly plans, or of the following year for annual plans. Amplitude may then move the account to the Free plan.
- Contract notice: At least 60 days before the end of the then-current term. How to give notice
- Before you go: export Raw event data for a project. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- Raw event data for a project: Request it through Amplitude's Export API for a date range (a developer task using the project's API credentials) (Zipped archive of JSON files). Up to 365 days per request and 4GB per response; data can be exported about 2 hours after Amplitude receives it. Contract customers can retrieve data for 30 days after the agreement ends; under the Terms of Service, Amplitude may delete data after termination amplitude.com amplitude.com amplitude.com
What happens to your data
Contract customers: data stays retrievable for 30 days after the agreement ends, then Amplitude destroys it. Under the Terms of Service (Free and Plus plans), Amplitude has no obligation to store data after termination and may permanently delete it.
What you lose
- Plus plan features, if Amplitude moves the account to the Free plan
- Contract customers: all Customer Data once the 30-day retrieval period ends

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Free plan The Free plan covers 2M events a month with no credit card. If you don't renew Plus, Amplitude may move the account to the Free plan amplitude.com amplitude.com
- Cheaper plan Downgrade to a lower tier at any time; the change takes effect at the start of the next billing period gethelp.amplitude.com
- Cheaper plan Drop an add-on without cancelling Plus: uncheck it on the checkout page and complete checkout; it is removed at the end of the billing cycle gethelp.amplitude.com
- Discount program Startup Scholarship: startups with under $10M in funding and fewer than 20 employees get one free year on the Growth plan amplitude.com

For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Contract customers: send notice at least 60 days before the term ends, or the contract renews for another 12 months
- Cancelling Plus does not delete the account: once it is downgraded, contact online support and select Plus to have it removed
- Deleting an organization is a separate request that an Admin submits to Amplitude Support
- Free plan or free trial: close the account by contacting Amplitude via support.amplitude.com
- Active deployments keep generating charges even if nobody logs in; the last month's usage is billed after the month ends, and overages are charged on the 18th
- Add-ons can be removed on their own; they drop off at the end of the billing cycle
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/amplitude.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
