How to cancel Runway

On the web billing page click Cancel plan, then Continue to cancel plan, then Confirm cancellation in Stripe; stopping at the feedback step doesn't cancel. Paid features last to the cycle's end. Deleting the account doesn't stop billing, workspaces bill separately, and app-store plans cancel with Apple or Google.

The short answer

  • Where: Go to your billing page (app.runwayml.com).
  • When it ends: You keep paid features until the end of the billing cycle; the plan doesn't renew and you aren't charged again.
  • Contract notice: Enterprise terms renew automatically for one-year terms unless written notice of non-renewal is given at least 60 days before expiration. How to give notice
  • Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: Apple or Google Play.
  • Before you go: export Your generated assets and exports. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Your generated assets and exports: Select Assets in the left-hand sidebar, select several assets (Shift for a range, Ctrl or Cmd for single items), then open Actions in the floating bottom menu and choose Download (ZIP file) help.runwayml.com
  • Invoices: Click Download next to each invoice on your billing page. There's no bulk download; invoices download one at a time help.runwayml.com
  • Enterprise Customer Content: Ask Runway for an export within 30 days after the Enterprise agreement ends. After 30 days Runway has no obligation to keep the content and deletes it, unless the law prohibits that runway.com

What happens to your data

Assets and projects stay on the account unless you delete the account, which is permanent. Purchased credits remain until spent. Enterprise content is exported on request for 30 days after termination, then deleted.

What you lose

  • Paid features once the cycle ends; Free-plan videos carry a Runway watermark
  • Creating new projects on the Free plan if you already have more than three
  • If a refund is granted: the plan's features and any unused plan credits, at once

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Retention step: A feedback step comes first; you must still select Continue to cancel plan and then Confirm cancellation in Stripe, or the plan renews
  • Deleting the Runway account doesn't cancel the Stripe subscription: cancel first, then delete
  • Subscribed on mobile with Apple's Hide My Email? Apple may have created a second Runway account with its own subscription; sign in with that address and cancel it too
  • A workspace you own can have its own subscription, billed separately from your personal plan: switch into it and cancel there too
  • If the billing page says the account is managed by Apple, Runway support can't change the plan: cancel in iOS Settings
  • An inactive Cancel plan button means cancellation is already scheduled
  • Adding Admin or Editor members to a workspace adds a charge for each; Viewers are free
  • Deleting the app or the account doesn't remove you from Runway's mailing list: use the Unsubscribe link

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/runway.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
