The short answer
- Where: Before the monthly renewal date, send Productboard a message in chat or email support@productboard.com asking to cancel the subscription.
- Contract notice: At least 30 days before the end of the subscription term; with less than 30 days' notice the subscription renews without exception. How to give notice
- Before you go: export All feedback (notes), optionally with linked features. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- All feedback (notes), optionally with linked features: While signed in, paste https://[your_workspace].productboard.com/api/notes/export into your browser with your workspace name, press enter, then open the email that arrives in a few minutes and click Download (CSV). The text of feedback created through Zendesk, Slack and Intercom isn't included support.productboard.com
- The rest of the workspace: products, components, features and subfeatures, companies and users, and roadmap images: There is no efficient full-workspace export: collect data piece by piece with the CSV endpoints, the export button on each board, and the public API (CSV; roadmap images as PNG). Audit log exports need a workspace admin on the Enterprise plan. It is the customer's responsibility to export data before it is deleted 60 days after termination support.productboard.com support.productboard.com
What happens to your data
Data stays on Productboard for up to 60 days after termination, then is deleted automatically. Under the MSA, customers can export Customer Property for up to 60 days after termination, and Productboard deletes it within 90 days.

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Free plan Free plan: 500 feedback notes, 25 Contributors, 1 Teamspace & 1 Product Portal, and 50 Spark AI credits a month shared across the workspace productboard.com support.productboard.com
- Cheaper plan Downgrade to a cheaper plan from the in-app Billing page at any time; monthly plans change at the next billing cycle, annual plans at renewal support.productboard.com
- Fewer seats Remove maker seats (removing a user doesn't remove the seat): on monthly plans the change applies when a new billing cycle starts, on annual plans at the renewal date, with no refund for the remaining days support.productboard.com
- Pay yearly Yearly billing is discounted (the pricing page says Save 21%; for example Plus is $19 per maker/month billed annually versus $25 billed monthly); you can move from monthly to yearly on the Billing page support.productboard.com productboard.com

For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Annual and multi-year plans: give notice at least 30 days before the term ends, or the plan renews without exception
- Cancelling is done by notifying Productboard (chat or support@productboard.com); the in-app Billing page handles downgrades
- Only Admins can manage subscription and billing information or delete the workspace
- Spark (AI) can't be cancelled on its own: it's part of every plan
- Downgrades and seat removals don't refund the rest of the current billing cycle
- Export feedback and features before termination: there's no one-click full export, and data is deleted after 60 days
- A trial isn't charged automatically: when it ends, access is locked (data is kept unless you ask otherwise) until you upgrade or convert to the free plan
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/productboard.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
