How to cancel Private Internet Access

Cancel by turning off auto-renewal in the PIA Client Control Panel (Next Billing, Turn off auto-renewal); the VPN works until the paid term ends. App Store and Google Play purchases are cancelled there. Gotcha: cancelling doesn't refund; ask Support within 30 days, and app-store purchases aren't covered.

The short answer

  • Where: Log in to the PIA Client Control Panel (privateinternetaccess.com).
  • When it ends: The account stays active until the end of the current paid term, then doesn't renew.
  • Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: Apple or Google Play.
  • Want to keep it for less? Pay yearly and more. Options

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Retention step: The flow may ask for a cancellation reason before you choose Submit
  • Cancelling means turning off auto-renewal; it doesn't refund. Ask for a refund separately, by support ticket or email, within 30 days
  • App Store, Google Play and Amazon subscriptions can't be cancelled from the PIA account; turn off auto-renewal on that platform
  • Crypto and PayGarden gift-card purchases don't renew automatically, so there is nothing to cancel
  • Order-page deals are for new accounts only; renewals are charged at the renewal price shown at checkout
  • Deleting the account is separate: ask Support by ticket or 24/7 live chat. To have all your data deleted, email dpo@privateinternetaccess.com
  • Having Support remove your saved payment details makes renewal fail, but PIA then can't refund to that payment method
  • Website plans renew automatically; the 2-year plan renews every year, not every 2 years

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/private_internet_access.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
