How to cancel DeepL

Log in, open Subscription, select the plan and click Cancel subscription, at least one day before the next payment; it stays active until the billing period ends. App Store, Google Play and partner purchases are cancelled there. Glossaries and saved translations are deleted 90 days after deactivation.

The short answer

  • Where: Log in to your DeepL account and open Subscription (app.deepl.com).
  • When it ends: The subscription stays active until the end of the current monthly or annual billing period, then deactivates; cancelling during a trial keeps it until the trial ends, at no cost.
  • Contract notice: An agreed fixed term is extended automatically by the same term unless the agreement is terminated before that renewal. How to give notice
  • Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: Apple, Google Play or a partner.
  • Before you go: export Glossaries. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Cheaper plan Switch to a more limited plan with Compare plans in the Subscription tab; it takes effect at the end of the current billing period support.deepl.com
  • Pay yearly Annual billing saves 16% (pricing page). Switch in the Subscription tab with Change to annual subscription; you're credited for the unused part of the month. API Pro has no annual option deepl.com support.deepl.com
  • Free plan Keep using DeepL's Free version, with the lower limits listed in the pricing page's comparison table deepl.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Signing out or deleting the DeepL app does not cancel the subscription
  • Cancel at least one day before the next scheduled payment
  • Until it deactivates, a cancelled subscription can be reactivated from the yellow banner (Reactivate subscription, then Confirm reactivation), so don't click it by mistake
  • On a team subscription only a team admin can cancel
  • In-app purchases can't be changed or cancelled from the DeepL account area
  • An account can't be deleted while it still has an active subscription
  • API usage is billed until the subscription ends: a cost control limit stops further requests once it's reached

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/deepl.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.

Delete your account (separate from cancelling)

Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated hard).
