How to cancel Teamwork.com

A site admin cancels from the profile icon: Subscription, Plan management, Cancel plan, survey, then Cancel Plan. Access runs to the end of the billing cycle, then drops to Free Forever (5 users, 5 active projects). PayPal payers must also cancel in PayPal. The Terms want 30 days' written notice.

The short answer

  • Where: Optional: to choose who keeps a standard seat on Free Forever (5 standard users), downgrade the others to collaborators in People first.
  • When it ends: Your account and subscription stay active until the end of the current billing cycle, then switch automatically to Free Forever.
  • Contract notice: At least 30 days before the end of the Initial Subscription Term or any Renewal Period. How to give notice
  • Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: PayPal.
  • Before you go: export Customer Data, as a backup. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Customer Data, as a backup: Send a written request no later than ten days after the termination takes effect. The customer pays Teamwork.com's reasonable expenses for returning or disposing of the data; otherwise the data may be disposed of teamwork.com

What happens to your data

What you lose

  • Paid plan features and paid seats after the billing cycle ends
  • Standard seats beyond five: other users become collaborators
  • Active projects beyond the five most recently updated: the rest are archived and read-only
  • All site data and account access if you delete the site, which is permanent

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Free plan Free Forever plan, which the pricing page describes as for small teams starting to bring more structure to their work teamwork.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Retention step: The cancellation flow includes an off-boarding survey before the final Cancel Plan click. The article doesn't say whether it shows offers
  • Cancelling and deleting differ: deleting the site is permanent, and it is only possible after the paid billing period ends
  • Cancelling in Teamwork.com alone does not stop PayPal charges
  • The help article says cancelling in the app takes effect at the end of the billing cycle, while the Terms ask for written notice at least 30 days before renewal and say termination notice can't be given by email. For an annual plan, cancel in the app and send written notice well before the renewal

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/teamwork.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
