How to cancel Sync.com

Cancel in the web panel: Settings, Account & billing, Manage Subscription, your plan tile, Cancel Subscription, then Cancel my account. Access runs to the end of the paid term. A cancelled paid plan closes the account instead of moving to Free; files are kept 30 days after closing, then may be deleted. Download them first.

The short answer

  • Where: Sign in to the web panel.
  • When it ends: The account stays active until the end of the current billing term, then closes. Sign-in, syncing, sharing links and file access stop when it closes.
  • Before you go: export All files in your Sync account, including Vault. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • All files in your Sync account, including Vault: For large amounts, install the desktop app, move Vault files into the Files tab first, and set cloud-only items to download (Always keep on this device on Windows, Download now on macOS), then copy them outside the Sync folder. For a few files, select them in the web panel and click the download icon (ZIP file from the web panel; the desktop app downloads the files themselves). Web-panel download size limits vary by browser. Team admins can't reach users' private files: ask each user to download theirs or move them into folders the admin owns help.sync.com help.sync.com

What happens to your data

Files stay on Sync's servers for 30 days after the account closes, and you can ask support to reactivate in that time. As early as 30 days after closing, the account and all its data may be permanently deleted.

What you lose

  • Sign-in to the web panel, desktop and mobile apps once the account closes
  • Syncing between devices, sharing links and collaboration features
  • Files and account data, which may be permanently deleted from 30 days after the account closes
  • A fallback to the Free plan: a cancelled paid plan closes the account instead

Cancel, by who bills you

Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/sync_com.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.

Delete your account (separate from cancelling)

Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated easy).
