How to cancel Backblaze

Computer Backup: sign in, delete every backup (Delete Backup erases the backed-up data for good), then delete the unused licenses. B2: delete all files, buckets and app keys, then untick B2 Cloud Storage in My Settings. Gotcha: restore your files first, and monthly plans are never refunded.

The short answer

  • Where: Restore any files you want to keep first (see export): deleting a backup can't be undone (secure.backblaze.com).
  • When it ends: Deleting a backup irreversibly deletes the backed-up data right away; the subscription is cancelled once no backups or licenses remain.
  • Before you go: export Files in a Computer Backup. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Fewer seats and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Files in a Computer Backup: Sign in, click Restore next to the backup, select the files and folders, and choose a downloadable ZIP, Save Files to B2, or a USB hard drive by mail (ZIP download, a copy in B2, or a USB hard drive). ZIP restores are limited to 500 GB per request (20 active requests) and stay available for 7 days; Save Files to B2 up to 10 TB; a USB drive holds up to 8 TB and costs $189 help.backblaze.com

What happens to your data

A deleted backup is irreversibly deleted. An account can be deleted entirely once it is inactive, which blocks logins immediately and makes any data in it inaccessible.

What you lose

  • Every file in a deleted backup (deletion can't be undone)
  • Logins and access to all data, once the account itself is deleted

Cancel, by who bills you

Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Fewer seats Remove licenses you don't use: Overview, Unused License area, Delete License (a license tied to a backup needs the backup removed first). In Business Groups, unused licenses are deleted automatically at the next renewal help.backblaze.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Restore everything you need before deleting a backup: deletion is irreversible
  • Computer Backup and B2 are cancelled separately: cancelling B2 doesn't touch your backups
  • Charge disputes must be raised within 45 days of the charge
  • To delete the whole account it must be inactive, not a member of a group, and not administering a group: then use Delete Account at the top of My Settings
  • A billing-plan change (monthly, 1-year, 2-year) under Preferences > Plan only takes effect at the next renewal
  • Download invoices or other account records before deleting the account

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/backblaze.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.

Delete your account (separate from cancelling)

Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated medium).
