How to cancel SiteGround

In the Client Area, open Services, Hosting, Settings and the three-dot menu: Renewal Settings turns auto-renewal off, Cancel ends the plan now or at expiry. Money back within 30 days (shared) or 14 (cloud). Gotcha: domains aren't cancelled with hosting, and a promotional domain's fee may be charged on cancelling.

The short answer

  • Where: In the Client Area, go to Services, then Hosting, and click Settings next to the plan (my.siteground.com).
  • When it ends: The plan isn't renewed. After it expires, the expired account is kept for up to 30 days (Shared) or 7-14 days (Cloud), when you can still renew it in the Client Area; then it is terminated, with a backup kept for up to 60 days.
  • Before you go: export Full website backups (website files, databases and email). What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Cancellation requests must be made in the Client Area
  • Cancelling hosting doesn't cancel the domain: turn off the domain's auto-renewal separately, or keep the domain by turning off only the hosting's auto-renewal
  • All services renew automatically by default
  • Domain renewal fees are usually separate from the hosting renewal and show under Client Area, Billing, Renewals

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/siteground.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
