The short answer
- Where: Sign in as a Team Owner, open the team dashboard and go to Usage & billing, then Plan details (app.netlify.com).
- When it ends: The Free plan takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle (Legacy plans: at the end of the current cycle). Unused monthly plan credits, including rollover credits, are removed then; credit-pack and auto-recharge credits stay.
- Contract notice: Written notice of non-renewal at least 60 days before the end of the current term; otherwise it renews automatically for a term of the same length. How to give notice
- Before you go: export The deployed files of any successful deploy. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- The deployed files of any successful deploy: Open the deploy's detail page and select Download in the header; when the ZIP is ready, select Download ready. Single files can be downloaded from the Deploy file browser (ZIP). Successful deploys only. A deleted deploy's artifacts (URLs, deploy logs, functions) can't be accessed, so download before deleting a team docs.netlify.com
- Invoices: A Team Owner or Billing Admin goes to Usage & billing, then Billing details, and finds the list under Invoices. Enterprise teams find invoices on the Organization's billing dashboard docs.netlify.com
What happens to your data
Self-serve agreement: after termination, Customer Data stays available for electronic retrieval for 30 days; after that Netlify may, but is not obligated to, delete it.
What you lose
- Team sites, which go offline when the team is deleted
- DNS zones set up in Netlify (deleted)
- Domains bought through Netlify (locked)
- Unused monthly plan credits, including rollover credits, once a downgrade takes effect
- Deploys you delete, with their URLs, logs and functions
- After deleting your user: every team you own, and access to Netlify without help from support
Cancel, by who bills you

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Free plan The Free plan has a 300-credit monthly limit; when a site reaches its limits it pauses until the next billing cycle instead of charging you netlify.com docs.netlify.com
- Cheaper plan Move Pro down to Personal, or lower a Pro plan's monthly credit tier: in Usage & billing, Plan details. A lower credit tier applies at the end of the current billing cycle docs.netlify.com docs.netlify.com
- Fewer seats Legacy plans bill per active member: a Team Owner removes people with Options, then Remove from team, and a mid-cycle seat removal is credited, prorated, on the invoice. Credit-based Pro already includes unlimited members docs.netlify.com docs.netlify.com
- Discount program Qualifying open-source projects can get the Netlify Open Source plan, with monthly credits, free production deploys and unlimited team members netlify.com

For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Only a Team Owner can change the plan or turn auto recharge on or off
- Auto recharge is off by default, but if someone turned it on it keeps buying credits with the saved card until disabled
- Free and Legacy Starter teams can't be deleted: downgrade paid teams to Free, or delete your user account
- Disabling a project takes it offline and stops it using build minutes, functions and bandwidth; it can be re-enabled any time
- Deleting deploys does not reduce costs
- A payment method can only be removed after adding another one or downgrading to the Free plan
- Moving a team from a Legacy plan to a credit-based plan is permanent
- Netlify's docs send cancelling questions to its Support Guide on the Netlify forums; the delete steps here come from that guide
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/netlify.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
Delete your account (separate from cancelling)
Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated easy).
