The short answer
- Where: Sign in to the web app, open Settings, then Account Management (app.invoicing.co).
- When it ends: Auto-billing stops once the paid plan is downgraded or cancelled.
- Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: Apple.
- Before you go: export A complete backup of the selected company: settings and data. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- A complete backup of the selected company: settings and data: Use the JSON export under Settings, Import | Export, once for each company; the export runs in the background and the download link arrives by email (JSON backup in a downloadable zip). One company per export, and the emailed download link expires daily. A JSON backup can later be imported into another company or reinstalled into an existing one invoiceninja.github.io
What happens to your data
Deleting the account is irreversible and wipes all data from Invoice Ninja's system; if a restore turns out to be possible later, it costs $140 for Free accounts and $70 for Pro and Enterprise accounts. Free accounts inactive for three months are treated as ghost accounts and scheduled for irreversible deletion.
What you lose
- Every company and record on the account, if you delete the account or purge data
- The selected company, if you use Delete Company
- Pro and Enterprise features, once you move to the Free plan

For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Export a JSON backup of every company before deleting: deletion is irreversible
- Delete Company removes only the selected company; Purge Data wipes every company and record but isn't described as cancelling the plan
- Deactivating a company pauses its emails, recurring invoices and notifications; it isn't described as stopping the plan's billing
- A plan bought in the iOS app is billed by Apple: cancel it in Apple's subscription settings
- Refund windows: within the active month for monthly plans, and 30 days from any payment date for annual plans; the support page says to contact Invoice Ninja within 30 days of upgrading
- Download each company's JSON backup soon after the email arrives: the link expires daily
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/invoice_ninja.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
