The short answer
- Where: Sign in to the account that holds the subscription, click your avatar at the bottom of the sidebar and select Wallet & Billing (ideogram.ai).
- When it ends: Plan benefits continue until the end of the period already paid for (annual subscribers keep access to the end of the prepaid year); then the account moves to the free plan, or to pay as you go if you still have purchased credits. Unused monthly credits end with the plan.
- Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: Apple.
- Before you go: export Images and videos in your Assets or a collection. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- Images and videos in your Assets or a collection: Open Assets or a collection, select the items, then click Download in the bar at the bottom (A ZIP file for images; videos download as MP4). Up to 250 items per selection, up to 50 videos per download, and one bulk download at a time. Images download as PNG on a paid plan and JPEG without one; formats and sizes that need a plan show a Subscribe to download button docs.ideogram.ai
What happens to your data
The account and images stay; existing private images remain private. Credits bought separately stay usable until 365 days after purchase. Deleting the account (Settings, Account, Delete account, after cancelling) permanently removes all generations and data, usually within about 48 hours.
What you lose
- Unused monthly plan credits
- Private generation: new images made on Free are public
- PNG downloads (without a plan, images download as JPEG) and other download formats and sizes that need a paid plan
Cancel, by who bills you
Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Cheaper plan In Settings, Plans, click the lower plan and confirm. The current plan runs to the end of the paid period (no refund or credit for the difference), then you switch and are billed the lower price. Yearly-to-monthly changes and Team-to-individual moves can't be made on that page: contact support@ideogram.ai docs.ideogram.ai
- Pay yearly Yearly billing costs less per month: Plus is $15/month ($180 a year) instead of $20/month, Pro $42/month ($504 a year) instead of $60/month, and Team $20 instead of $30 per user/month. Credits still arrive monthly docs.ideogram.ai
- Free plan Cancel to move to Free: free accounts that sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft get 30 credits each week, but everything generated on Free is public docs.ideogram.ai docs.ideogram.ai
- Fewer seats The Team plan is billed per seat. When the team owner removes a member, the next bill reflects the change; that member's unused credits are lost docs.ideogram.ai
For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Cancel at least 5 days before the renewal date, or the next charge may still be processed
- Subscribed in the iOS app? Cancel in the App Store: cancelling on the website won't stop Apple's charges
- Only the team owner can manage a Team plan's billing
- Changed your mind? Click Don't cancel subscription in the billing portal before the paid period ends
- Bulk-download images before cancelling: some download formats and sizes need a paid plan
- Delete the account only after cancelling the subscription; deletion can't be undone
- The API and the app share one credit balance
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/ideogram.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
