How to cancel Clerk

In the Clerk Dashboard, pick the workspace, open Billing, select Manage plan, then Cancel Plan on the Hobby plan and confirm. It moves to Hobby at the end of the billing cycle, and usage-based features keep charging until you turn them off. Deleting your account doesn't cancel the plan.

The short answer

  • Where: Pay any unpaid invoice first; Manage plan stays disabled until you do (dashboard.clerk.com).
  • When it ends: At the end of the billing cycle the workspace moves to the Hobby plan; your applications keep running.
  • Contract notice: Order Forms renew automatically for terms of the same length; non-renewal goes as the Order Form details, before the term expires. How to give notice
  • Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: a partner.
  • Before you go: export Your application's users. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Your application's users: In the Clerk Dashboard, open the instance's Settings, select Export users in the User exports section, then download the file (CSV, including hashed passwords). Only admins, or users in their personal workspace, can export clerk.com

  • Retention step: The cancel flow shows what happens when you cancel and the features you'll lose, then optionally asks why you're canceling before the final Cancel plan
  • Deleting your account doesn't cancel your plan. Cancel your plan first
  • If the workspace has an unpaid invoice, pay it first, since Manage plan stays disabled until you do
  • Usage-based features keep accruing charges until the billing cycle ends; turn them off to stop usage charges
  • The plan is per workspace and covers all its applications; check each workspace you pay for
  • Clerk installed from the Vercel Marketplace is billed and managed in the Vercel Dashboard, not Clerk's
  • Enterprise plans are cancelled through the Clerk account manager, not in the dashboard

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/clerk.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
