How to cancel Auth0

Self-service plans cancel by downgrading to Free: Teams Dashboard > Settings > Subscription, choose Free, confirm. Export users first: bulk export isn't on Free. The tenant keeps running on Free; deleting it is separate and irreversible. Enterprise plans follow your Auth0 agreement and drop to Free when the term ends.

The short answer

  • Where: Go to the Teams Dashboard, then Settings > Subscription (accounts.auth0.com).
  • Before you go: export User profiles in a tenant. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • User profiles in a tenant: Before downgrading: Dashboard > User Management > Users, then Import/Export Users at the top right; or a Management API export job (POST /jobs/users-exports) (JSON (NDJSON) or CSV). Bulk user export isn't available on the Free plan, so export before you downgrade. CSV exports are limited to 30 fields; export job data is deleted after 24 hours and the download link is valid for 60 seconds auth0.com

What happens to your data

The tenant and its data stay on the Free plan until deleted. Deleting a tenant is irreversible: it can't be restored, its name can't be reused, and its metrics are lost.

What you lose

  • Paid-plan features beyond the Free plan
  • Everything in a deleted tenant, which can't be restored
  • The tenant name, which can't be reused after deletion

Cancel, by who bills you

Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

Keep it for less

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Cancelling means downgrading to the Free plan; it doesn't delete the tenant
  • Export users before downgrading: bulk user export isn't available on the Free plan
  • A tenant must be downgraded to the Free plan before it can be deleted in the Dashboard: Dashboard > Settings, switch to the Advanced view, Danger Zone > Delete, then Yes, Delete Tenant. It can't be undone
  • Refund or credit requests go to Okta Accounts Receivable at ar@okta.com, with the plan the tenant was on, the date of the downgrade or cancellation, and a brief reason

  • Enterprise main tenants can only be deleted by Auth0 Support

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/auth0.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.

Delete your account (separate from cancelling)

Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated hard).
