The short answer
- Where: To keep using Algolia for free, downgrade from the Billing area of the dashboard (latest plans) and keep usage within the free units; legacy plans need Support to change (dashboard.algolia.com).
- When it ends: Account deletion deletes application data immediately; you can no longer push new data or search your indices.
- Contract notice: At least 30 days' notice of nonrenewal at the end of the applicable term; otherwise Service Orders renew for successive terms. How to give notice
- Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: a partner.
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Deleting an Algolia app from Shopify doesn't end the Algolia subscription; delete the application in the Algolia dashboard too
- On self-serve plans, cancelling means deleting applications or the whole account; data goes immediately, so export first
- Ending a committed term without cause leaves you liable for the balance of the fees for the rest of the term
- Accounts created through Heroku are billed by Heroku; remove the add-on there
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/algolia.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
Delete your account (separate from cancelling)
Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated easy).
