How to cancel Zapier

Zapier has no Cancel button: the account owner opens Billing and usage, clicks Manage and selects the Free plan; paid features last until the cycle ends. No refunds; add-ons are cancelled separately; emails, chats or removing your card don't cancel. Enterprise contracts need 15 days' written notice before renewal.

The short answer

  • Where: Sign in as the account owner and open the Billing and usage page (zapier.com).
  • When it ends: At the end of the current billing cycle: paid features stay until then, and no new plan charges follow.
  • Contract notice: At least 15 days' prior written notice before the term ends, sent to receivables@zapier.com. How to give notice
  • Before you go: export Zap run history. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Zap run history: Open Zap History, tick the runs you want (or select up to 5,000 at a time), click Download X, choose CSV or JSON, then click Download; the file is emailed to the account's email address (CSV or JSON). Up to 5,000 Zap runs per export; Zap run data stays in the account for 29 to 69 days help.zapier.com zapier.com
  • Account data and Zap workflows: Use Export your Zapier Account Data and Export your Zap Workflows, linked from Zapier's Data Retention/Deletion/Export page (they open the account's data settings). Tables, Forms, Chatbots and Agents data is exported by contacting Support through the Get Help page zapier.com

What happens to your data

Moving to Free keeps existing data (over-limit assets just can't grow). Zap run data stays 29 to 69 days in the account and up to 4 months in backups. Deleting the account is permanent and takes up to 2 days.

What you lose

  • Zaps with more than one action step, which are turned off
  • Zap runs that use a premium app, which are held
  • Shared app connections on Team or Enterprise accounts, which are disconnected
  • AI Fields and enrichments in Zapier Tables

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Free plan The Free plan gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps with one trigger and one action; Zaps with more than one action step are turned off, and runs that use premium apps are held help.zapier.com help.zapier.com
  • Cheaper plan Move to a lower-tier paid plan (Billing and usage, Manage, select the lower plan). It takes effect at the end of the billing cycle, and lower tiers include fewer tasks per month help.zapier.com
  • Pay yearly Prepaying for an annual plan costs 33% less than paying monthly help.zapier.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • There is no Cancel button: selecting the Free plan is the cancellation
  • Under the Terms of Service, none of these cancels: an email, chat or phone request; removing or suspending your card; or a cancellation confirmation from anyone other than Zapier
  • Cancelling the plan does not affect add-ons, which are separate subscriptions: cancel each one in Billing and usage. Cancelling an add-on gives a pro-rated account credit for the rest of the cycle, not a refund
  • Pay-per-task charges from the current cycle can still arrive after cancelling
  • A 7-day re-trial with a card on file becomes a paid plan unless cancelled before it ends; the 14-day new-user trial without a card needs nothing
  • On Team plans only the account owner can change the plan
  • Deleting the account (Settings, Security and data) is separate from cancelling and permanent; an organization owner must first transfer ownership

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/zapier.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.

Delete your account (separate from cancelling)

Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated easy).
