The short answer
- Where: Before downgrading, manually move any connected Stores and Domains to a new destination; each account can have only one Hobby team, so an existing Hobby team must be deleted or the two teams merged (vercel.com).
- When it ends: Under the Terms, a downgrade or termination takes effect at the start of the next renewal period. On downgrade, all active members except the original owner are removed and Hobby limits apply.
- Contract notice: Written notice at least 60 calendar days before the term expires (an emailed notice counts once receipt is electronically confirmed); otherwise each Order Form renews for a term equal to the initial one. How to give notice
- Before you go: export Invoices. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- Invoices: In the team's dashboard, open Settings, then Invoices, and download each invoice with the icon on its row (PDF). Deleting a team removes its invoice history permanently; the invoice emails sent to the team's invoice recipient remain your record vercel.com
What happens to your data
Deleting a team permanently removes the team and its data. The Terms say your content may be permanently deleted on termination; no retention period is given.
What you lose
- Team members other than the original owner, who are removed when a Pro team is downgraded
- Commercial use: Hobby is for personal, non-commercial use only
- A deleted project's deployments, domains, environment variables and settings
- A deleted team's data and invoice history
Cancel, by who bills you
Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Free plan Hobby is free but limited to personal, non-commercial use; when it exceeds its included usage it is paused, not billed vercel.com vercel.com
- Fewer seats On Pro, Developer seats cost $20 per user a month and Viewer seats are free, so fewer Developer seats lower the bill. Use Manual approval so commit authors aren't added as paid Developer seats automatically vercel.com vercel.com

For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Pro and Enterprise deployments aren't stopped at 100% usage: on-demand usage keeps billing unless Spend Management's Pause Production Deployments is on
- Spend Management covers metered usage only; seats, integrations such as Marketplace, and add-ons still bill monthly
- Pausing a project stops metered usage on its production deployment, which shows a 503 DEPLOYMENT_PAUSED error until resumed
- Before deleting a team, download invoice PDFs and remove all team domains
- A payment method can only be removed after adding a new one
- Pro is billed monthly only; annual billing needs an Enterprise plan
- Deleting a project also deletes its deployments, domains, environment variables and settings
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/vercel.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
Delete your account (separate from cancelling)
Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated easy).
