The short answer
- Where: First remove your custom domain as the Primary domain, and cancel any recurring or subscription payments from your students.
- When it ends: Paid features end at the end of the billing cycle; add-on features stop immediately. The site stays up and students keep access to what they bought.
- Contract notice: Written notice of non-renewal at least 60 days before the end of the term, unless your Order Form says otherwise; otherwise the Order Form renews for another year. How to give notice
- Before you go: export User report (students and other users, with sign-up custom-field answers). What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- User report (students and other users, with sign-up custom-field answers): From the Admin Dashboard, select Users, then All Users, then Export; an email arrives with a link to download it (CSV). Needs the Basic plan or above; only visible columns are included support.thinkific.com
- Site Content (Thinkific Plus): Request an export from Thinkific within 90 days after termination (A standard format). After 90 days Thinkific may delete all Site Content and the account thinkific.com
What happens to your data
Once an account is cancelled, all content may be permanently deleted, and deletion is irreversible. Thinkific Plus: 90 days after termination to request an export, then deletion.

For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Only the Site Owner can cancel
- Cancel students' recurring payments yourself first: they keep being charged even after you cancel or delete the Thinkific account
- Remove the custom domain as Primary before the plan ends; if you don't, the .thinkific.com URL redirects to the inactive domain and you can't reach the Admin Dashboard without Support
- Cancelling is not deleting: an account on an active plan can't be deleted; cancel first, then ask Support to delete (permanent)
- Thinkific Plus contracts renew for a year unless written notice is given 60 days before the term ends
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/thinkific.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
