The short answer
- Where: Log in to your Tavus account and open the Billing Portal/Account Settings page.
- When it ends: You can use the subscription until the end of the current subscription term, and it is not renewed after that term expires.
- Before you go: export Media files (generated videos). What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- Media files (generated videos): Download them from the Tavus Platform where the download option is offered, and keep your own backups. Tavus is not obligated to back up your content. Customer Avatars stay inside the Tavus Platform and can't be downloaded tavus.io
What happens to your data
The terms give no retention period. Once your access ends, Tavus may delete the Customer Content from its live databases; to ask for deletion, write to support@tavus.io.
What you lose
- Access to the Tavus Platform, or the feature you lose access to, once the term ends
- Customer Content, media files and interactive media files, which Tavus is not obligated to back up
- Customer Avatars, which are managed only inside the Tavus Platform and can't be downloaded
Cancel, by who bills you
Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

Master Services Agreement
- Check your Master Services Agreement for its term, renewal and termination terms, because that agreement, not the online terms, controls

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Cheaper plan Downgrade to a cheaper plan instead of cancelling; a downgrade takes effect on the first day of the next renewal term tavus.io
- Free plan Developer Free plan, listed on the pricing page with no upfront payment tavus.io
- Free plan PALs Free plan, listed on the pricing page for the curious and the naturally chatty tavus.io
For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Cancelling stops renewal but gives no prorated refund for the current term
- A free trial rolls into a paid subscription automatically
- Everyone on a team shares one plan; only an Admin can change or cancel it
- The terms say you may end the agreement by closing your Account, effective at the end of the current term, but they don't say where to close it; a data deletion request goes to support@tavus.io
- Tavus is not obligated to back up Customer Content, so download your media files before cancelling
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/tavus.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
