The short answer
- Where: Sign in, open the organization's billing page and go to the Subscription Plan section (supabase.com).
- When it ends: Immediately: downgrades take effect as soon as you confirm, and the organization stays on the Free Plan.
- Contract notice: Written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the current term expires; otherwise the agreement renews for another term of the same length. How to give notice
- Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: a partner.
- Before you go: export The Postgres database (schema and data). What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- The Postgres database (schema and data): Make a logical backup with the Supabase CLI db dump command, which Supabase recommends for Free Plan projects. Paid plans also keep daily backups under Database, then Backups: Pro 7 days, Team 14, Enterprise up to 30 (Logical backup made by the Supabase CLI). Physical backups (used when point-in-time recovery is on) can be restored but not downloaded directly supabase.com supabase.com
- Storage objects (uploaded files): Download them separately: database backups only hold their metadata. After a paused project's restore window, its backup file and Storage objects can still be downloaded from the project dashboard. Not included in database backups supabase.com supabase.com
What happens to your data
The organization and its projects stay on the Free Plan until you delete the organization. A paused project can be restored for 1 year, then its backup file and Storage objects can still be downloaded. Deleted projects are removed permanently.
What you lose
- Paid-plan features and the higher usage quota
- AWS Marketplace: all projects in the organization are paused if the downgrade leaves you over the free project limit
- For a deleted project: all its data, backups and point-in-time recovery snapshots, with no way to recover them
- Vercel Marketplace: uninstalling the integration removes all of its products and their data
Cancel, by who bills you
Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.
Billed by Supabase
- Sign in, open the organization's billing page and go to the Subscription Plan sectionYou should see:
Change subscription plan
- Click Change subscription plan, choose the Free Plan in the side panel and follow the prompts
- Repeat for every organization on a paid plan: each one has its own plan, payment method and invoices
- Optional: to stop a project's usage charges entirely, delete it in the project's Settings, then General, then Delete project. This is permanent
- Access ends
- Immediately: downgrades take effect as soon as you confirm, and the organization stays on the Free Plan
- Refunds
- No refunds. Prepaid subscription time left in the billing cycle is credited to the organization; the credits don't expire and apply to future invoices
- Fees
- You are still charged for usage above the plan's quota in the billing cycle: usage fees are billed in arrears on the next invoice
Billed through AWS Marketplace
- On the organization's billing page, go to Subscription Plan and click Change subscription planYou should see:
a link to the AWS Marketplace

- Access ends
- At the end of the billing cycle: downgrades aren't possible in the middle of a cycle
- Refunds
- Cancelling within 48 hours of purchase (by support ticket) refunds the upfront fixed subscription fee; usage costs up to then are not refunded. After 48 hours you can't cancel
Billed through Vercel Marketplace
- Manage invoices and payments in the Vercel dashboard, not the Supabase dashboard
- To remove the Supabase organization, open Integrations in the Vercel dashboard sidebar, select Manage next to Supabase, then Uninstall Integration at the bottom of the page. These organizations can't be removed manually

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Free plan The Free Plan includes two active free projects (paused projects don't count). Switch with Change subscription plan; it runs indefinitely unless you delete the organization supabase.com supabase.com
- Cheaper plan Move to a lower paid plan in the same Change subscription plan panel; prepaid time left on the old plan is credited to the organization supabase.com

For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Billing is per organization: check every organization and downgrade each paid one
- Downgrading doesn't erase usage already incurred: the next invoice still bills the cycle's excess usage
- To stop a paid project's charges now, delete it (paid projects can't be paused); deleting is permanent and removes its backups
- Back up the database with the CLI and download Storage files before deleting anything: backups don't include Storage objects
- Organizations billed through AWS or Vercel Marketplace are changed there, not in the Supabase dashboard
- Developer and Read-only members can't change billing: sign in as an Owner or Administrator
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/supabase.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
