How to cancel Sketch

An Admin cancels in the web app: Switch Workspace, Settings, Billing, Cancel Subscription. Access lasts to the end of the billing period; documents turn read-only and are deleted 90 days later. App Store subscriptions cancel in the App Store. Enterprise is a yearly commitment.

The short answer

  • Where: Go to Sketch, log in as an Admin and click the Switch Workspace icon in the top left corner of the sidebar (sketch.com).
  • When it ends: Access continues until the end of your billing period.
  • Contract notice: No notice period is stated; the Terms say subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. How to give notice
  • Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: Apple.
  • Before you go: export Documents in the Workspace. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Pay yearly and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Documents in the Workspace: Download them from the Workspace. After cancelling, the Workspace is read-only but documents can still be downloaded for up to 90 days. After cancelling, editors can no longer open, edit or upload documents sketch.com
  • All documents for an App Store subscription: Download all documents to your device before cancelling; Sketch strongly suggests it. The Workspace and all stored documents are permanently deleted 90 days after the cancellation date sketch.com

What happens to your data

The Workspace and all documents are permanently deleted 90 days after cancellation or expiration; contact support to reactivate within those 90 days, unless you deleted the Workspace yourself.

What you lose

  • Editing: documents become read-only, and Editors can't open, edit or upload them
  • Adding or editing members during the 90-day period
  • The Workspace and its documents once the 90 days end

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Pay yearly Yearly billing, which Sketch recommends because it saves money over a 12-month period sketch.com
  • Fewer seats Sketch charges for every Editor role in a Workspace, but Viewers are free, so make people who only view into Viewers sketch.com sketch.com
  • Student or nonprofit price Sketch is free for education: students and teachers get a free Workspace with one Editor seat; qualifying nonprofits get 50% off a yearly Standard subscription or a Mac-only license sketch.com
  • Cheaper plan A Mac-only license is a one-time purchase per seat that includes one year of updates; you can keep using the last version you downloaded without renewing, but lose collaboration and the web app sketch.com sketch.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Only an Admin can cancel in the web app; if you've lost Admin access, contact Sketch support
  • Subscriptions bought through the App Store are cancelled in the App Store, not in the web app, and refunds go through Apple
  • Deleting the Workspace yourself means the documents cannot be restored
  • Cancelling during the free trial means you won't be charged
  • Renewing a Mac-only license buys another year of updates; without renewing, the last version you downloaded keeps working
  • If a Sketch partner pays for your Workspace, billing runs through that partner; Sketch doesn't publish how those customers cancel

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/sketch.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
