How to cancel Twilio SendGrid

An account administrator cancels each paid product under Account Details, Your Products, Cancel Subscription (Twilio Console: Settings, Account Details, Your Products). The plan works until month end, then the account drops to End of Trial and can't send. Deleting the account and data takes a separate Support request.

The short answer

  • Where: Sign in to SendGrid and visit the Account Details page.
  • When it ends: The paid plan stays available until the end of the month; on the first day of the next calendar month the account moves to End of Trial status, which can't send email and blocks some features.
  • Contract notice: At least 30 days' prior written notice, by email to legalnotices@twilio.com; an Order Form in effect runs to its own end. How to give notice
  • Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: a partner.
  • Before you go: export The bounce suppression list. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • The bounce suppression list: Go to Suppressions, then Bounces, click the gear icon and click Export CSV (CSV (downloads in your browser)). Customer content is deleted 30 days after termination, so export before closing twilio.com support.sendgrid.com

What happens to your data

Cancelling doesn't delete the account. After termination, customer content is deleted after 30 days and customer account data typically 60 days after the account is closed; some email event data is kept pseudonymized for up to a year.

What you lose

  • Email sending: End of Trial status doesn't allow it
  • Access to some features, depending on plan
  • The account and all its data once deletion is carried out

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Cheaper plan Downgrade a paid Email API or Marketing Campaigns plan instead of cancelling; the current plan stays available until the end of the month support.sendgrid.com
  • Cheaper plan On Azure, switch to a lower SendGrid plan with Change plan on the Twilio SendGrid resource page twilio.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Support can't cancel or downgrade for you; you must be signed in. If you can't sign in, contact Support
  • Cancelling doesn't delete the account or its data: after cancelling, open a Support request to delete them
  • The Cancel Subscription button only appears for accounts with an active subscription
  • In the Twilio Console, cancel each product or subscription separately (Email API, Marketing Campaigns)
  • Export suppression lists (Bounces: gear icon, Export CSV) before deletion
  • An Azure subscription is cancelled in the Azure portal; once unsubscribed, using SendGrid again needs a new subscription
  • Until the cancellation takes effect, SendGrid advises securing the account: change passwords, turn on two-factor authentication and make sure API keys aren't exposed in code repositories
  • Contract customers: notices to Twilio go by email to legalnotices@twilio.com, and an Order Form in effect runs to its own end date

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/sendgrid.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.

Delete your account (separate from cancelling)

Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated hard).
