How to cancel Postmark

The Account Owner closes the account under Account, Plans & Add-ons, Close account; this deletes all messages, sender signatures and servers at once, and any overages are charged then. To stop billing but keep API tokens and settings, downgrade to the free 100-emails plan (effective at cycle end).

The short answer

  • Where: Open Account, then Plans & Add-ons (account.postmarkapp.com).
  • When it ends: The downgrade is scheduled for the end of the billing cycle; you are charged for the whole cycle at the higher plan. The account, API tokens and webhooks stay in place.
  • Before you go: export Suppressed recipients for each message stream, with the reason (hard bounce, spam complaint, manual suppression). What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Pause and more. Options

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Only the Account Owner sees Close account; the owner can transfer ownership on the Users page. Account Admins can still downgrade to the free plan
  • Downgrading to the free plan keeps API tokens and webhooks working at up to 100 emails a month; closing deletes everything at once
  • On a paid plan, sending isn't paused when you use up the plan's emails: extra emails are billed, and outstanding overages are charged when you cancel
  • Add-ons are priced per month (for example DMARC Monitoring from $14 per domain, Custom Activity Retention from $5); the help pages don't say whether downgrading removes them, so check the next invoice
  • Inactivity does not cancel the plan; cancellation must be done in the product
  • Export each message stream's suppression list (JSON) before closing the account
  • Postmark offers no annual plans or invoice billing

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/postmark.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
