How to cancel Paychex

Paychex publishes no cancellation process or notice period: contact your Paychex representative, call client support at 833-299-0168, or chat with a live representative in Paychex Flex. Gotcha: once you're no longer a client, W-2s are printed and shipped instead of shown online, so download pay stubs and reports first.

The short answer

  • Where: Contact your Paychex customer representative, or call client support at 833-299-0168 (HR Services and PEO on Paychex Flex: 800-741-6277; on Paychex Oasis: 888-627-4735) (paychex.com).
  • Before you go: export Employee pay stubs (check stubs). What to save

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Employee pay stubs (check stubs): In Paychex Flex, find the Check Stubs tile, click View All, check the stubs you want and click View PDF (PDF). Online W-2 access depends on the employer having an active Paychex Flex account paychex.com paychex.com

What happens to your data

Paychex keeps personal information as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected for, including legal obligations and business and financial records; no fixed period is published.

What you lose

  • Online W-2 access for employees, which depends on an active Paychex Flex account; former clients' W-2s are printed and shipped instead

Cancel, by who bills you

Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

For AI agents

  • This one needs a phone call or a chat: a browser agent can prepare it, but a person (or a calling service) finishes it.
  • Paychex publishes no self-serve cancel button, notice period or cancellation fees: ask your representative what your service agreement requires
  • If you are no longer a Paychex client, your W-2s are printed and shipped to you or directly to your employees
  • Employees of a former client should ask that employer for their W-2; Paychex says the employer is responsible for providing it
  • Download pay stubs and reports before the account is closed

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/paychex.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
