How to cancel LangSmith (LangChain)

LangSmith's self-serve Developer and Plus plans are managed by an Organization Admin under Settings > Billing and Usage, but LangChain doesn't document a cancel button. Enterprise Order Forms renew for a year unless written notice is given at least 30 days before term end, copying legal@langchain.dev. Export traces first.

The short answer

  • Where: Sign in as an Organization Admin and go to Settings, then Billing and Usage, and open the Plans and Billing tab (smith.langchain.com).
  • When it ends: Seats are billed monthly on the 1st; a removed seat earns no credit for the current month.
  • Contract notice: Written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the end of the then-current Subscription Term; email is sufficient, and notices to LangChain must copy legal@langchain.dev. How to give notice
  • Before you go: export LangSmith trace data. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • LangSmith trace data: Use Bulk Data Export, which writes to an S3 or S3-compatible bucket that you provide with write access granted to LangSmith (Parquet). Customers who signed up after August 3, 2026 need the Enterprise plan; earlier sign-ups can use it on Plus or Enterprise until February 1, 2027. Bulk exports have a 72-hour runtime timeout, and each workspace can create at most 250 bulk exports per hour docs.langchain.com
  • Customer Data from Cloud Deployments: Export as described in the documentation, on written request, during the Subscription Term or within 30 days after it. Subject to the retention period you configured; the 30-day post-termination export right does not apply to No Charge Access langchain.com

What happens to your data

For Enterprise, LangChain deletes Customer Data in its custody within 30 days of a written request after termination; export stays subject to your configured retention period. Retention after a self-serve organization closes isn't documented.

What you lose

  • Access to the LangSmith Platform once the agreement terminates
  • Customer Data in Cloud Deployments once the 30-day post-termination export window closes

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Only an Organization Admin can manage billing settings and remove users
  • Invited users count as billed seats, so revoke pending invites too
  • Base traces are kept only 14 days (extended traces 180 days), so export what you need soon
  • Trace usage is billed in arrears, so a usage bill can follow after you stop
  • Enterprise non-renewal can be sent by email, at least 30 days before the term ends, with a copy to legal@langchain.dev
  • A free trial ends when the trial period ends unless you enter a paid Order Form

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/langchain.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
