The short answer
- Where: In the Hostinger dashboard, go to Profile, then Billing, and select Subscriptions (hpanel.hostinger.com).
- When it ends: The service stays active until its expiration date; after that date it is automatically cancelled and deleted from your account, with all its data.
- Before you go: export Website files and databases from Hostinger's automatic backups. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- Website files and databases from Hostinger's automatic backups: Go to Websites, then Dashboard, and open Backups in the sidebar. Under Restore and download, choose Files backups or Database backups, pick a date and download it (Files as a .tar.gz archive; databases as a compressed .sql.gz file). Backups are weekly (daily on Business plans and above); weekly backups are kept 6 weeks and daily backups 7 days. Not available for websites built with Hostinger AI Builder. Hostinger also recommends saving your email before you cancel hostinger.com hostinger.com
What happens to your data
An expired web, cloud or Agency hosting plan can be reactivated from the dashboard home page, with its websites restored, within 30 days of expiry; after that it is cancelled and its backups are no longer available.
What you lose
- The websites, files, databases and email on the cancelled service (permanently deleted)
- A free email trial that came with the hosting plan
- Hostinger's backups of the plan once the 30-day expired period ends

- Review the information and confirm your choice
- Repeat for every domain, email plan or add-on you don't want to renew: each subscription is cancelled on its own
- Confirm it worked
- The auto-renewal toggle next to the service in Billing, Subscriptions is off; on a monthly plan, any pending renewal invoice is voided
- Access ends
- The service stays active until its expiration date; after that date it is automatically cancelled and deleted from your account, with all its data
- Notice
- With auto-renewal on, Hostinger charges the saved payment method before expiry: 27 days ahead for domains, 14 days ahead for yearly or longer plans, and for monthly plans on the expiration day (the same article also says 1 day before). Turn it off before then

A VPS plan is refundable only if no other VPS refund was started in the previous 180 days. A new domain registration is refundable only within 96 hours. Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Cheaper plan Move to a lower hosting plan: in Billing, Subscriptions, click the arrow next to the plan, choose Downgrade, pick the plan and click Complete plan downgrade. Your usage must fit the lower plan's limits. It applies immediately, the expiry date stays the same and the unused difference is credited back as a refund hostinger.com
- Pay yearly Choose a longer billing cycle: for most hosting and email plans it lowers the average monthly cost, but every cycle after the first purchase is billed at the regular rate. Changing it later requires auto-renewal to be on hostinger.com hostinger.com
For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- There is no delete button for services: turn off auto-renewal, or request a refund within 30 days
- Cancelling applies only to the selected subscription: domains, paid email plans and add-ons each need their own auto-renewal turned off
- Domains can't be deleted; turn off a domain's auto-renewal at least 27 days before it expires if you don't want to keep it
- The Hostinger account itself can be deleted only when it has no active services, no domains and no pending balance
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/hostinger.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
Delete your account (separate from cancelling)
Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated easy).
