How to cancel Formstack

An admin logs in to admin.formstack.com, opens Billing, clicks Manage Plan, then the three-dot icon next to each app (Forms, Documents, Sign) and Cancel. It takes effect on the next renewal date. Gotcha: annual plans aren't refunded, and a cancelled account's data is deleted for good after 60 days.

The short answer

  • Where: Log in to admin.formstack.com and select Billing & Usage (admin.formstack.com).
  • When it ends: On your next renewal date: cancelled Forms or Documents plans are downgraded to a Free plan, and a cancelled Sign plan loses access to the account.
  • Before you go: export Form submissions. What to save
  • Want to keep it for less? Cheaper plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

Export first

  • Form submissions: In the form's Submission tab, select Export All and choose the file type, confirm in the dialogue box, then download the file from the Export Submissions dropdown (CSV and other file types (open CSV files with UTF-8 in Excel to keep special characters)). Export before cancelling: you can't access forms, documents or other data once the account is cancelled help.formstack.com help.formstack.com

What happens to your data

Data of a cancelled account (or an expired trial) is kept for 60 days, without access, in case the account is reinstated; after 60 days of inactivity the account and all related data are permanently deleted. Admins are reminded 30, 7 and 1 day before deletion.

What you lose

  • Access to forms, documents and other data in a cancelled account
  • Everything in the account once the 60-day retention period ends; deleted data can't be recovered

Cancel, by who bills you

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Cheaper plan Change an app's plan level on the Manage Your Plan page, or cancel one app and keep paying for the others; a downgrade takes effect at the end of the current service period, with no credit for partial usage help.formstack.com
  • Free plan Cancelling Forms or Documents moves that app to a Free plan on the next renewal date instead of closing it help.formstack.com
  • Pay yearly Annual plans save 2 months. Switch with the Switch to Annual button at the top of the Manage Your Plan page; moving back to monthly needs the Billing team formstack.com help.formstack.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Each app (Forms, Documents, Sign) is cancelled separately from Manage Plan
  • Formstack calls the cancel steps a deactivation (pause): the account can be reactivated later, and its data is kept for 60 days
  • If you can see Billing but can't make changes, the account is probably paid by ACH or check or under a contract: contact the Billing Team, your Account Manager or your Customer Success Manager
  • User seats and added usage can't be removed in the Admin Panel; contact the Billing Team
  • The cancellation feedback form linked from the Salesforce article is for feedback only; it doesn't cancel
  • Formstack for Salesforce is a separate product: it can't be cancelled from formstack.com
  • Export submissions before cancelling; a cancelled account's data is deleted for good after 60 days
  • Logging in before the scheduled deletion keeps the account
  • The 14-day free trial of Forms needs no credit card; an expired trial's data is also deleted after 60 days
  • Switching from annual back to monthly billing needs the Billing team

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/formstack.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
