The short answer
- Where: Log in to Bolt. On the homepage sidebar, click your profile icon in the bottom-left, then Subscription (bolt.new).
- When it ends: The plan stays active, with its unused tokens, until the end of the billing period; then it downgrades to the Free plan.
- Before you go: export Project code. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- Project code: Open the project, click the GitHub icon in the top-right corner, click Log in to GitHub, install the GitHub App, choose repository access and click Install & Authorize; Bolt then syncs to GitHub on every change (GitHub repository). The terms' 30-day window to retrieve or export content covers only a termination or suspension by StackBlitz other than for cause, after which it may delete content. Deleting a team permanently deletes its projects support.bolt.new stackblitz.com
What happens to your data
Cancelling moves the account to the Free plan rather than closing it. If StackBlitz itself terminates or suspends access other than for cause, it keeps a way to retrieve or export content for 30 days, then may delete it.
What you lose
- All allocated tokens, including rollover tokens, when the billing cycle ends (resubscribe before rollover tokens expire to use them)
- Pro hosting, which comes with paid plans; free hosting has a hard traffic limit
- If you used more than 1 million tokens that month, free tokens only return next month
Cancel, by who bills you
Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Free plan The Free plan lets you build and publish at no cost, with limits: 1 million tokens a month and 300K a day, and free hosting up to 10 GB bandwidth and 333,333 requests a month support.bolt.new support.bolt.new support.bolt.new
- Cheaper plan Move to a cheaper paid tier (for example Pro $50 to Pro $25); it applies at the start of the next billing cycle. The annual-plan documentation describes upgrades to a higher annual tier; availability of lower paid annual tiers or a downgrade to monthly billing is not stated. support.bolt.new
- Pay yearly Save 10% with an annual plan support.bolt.new
- Fewer seats Teams admins can remove members; the seat stays occupied for the rest of the billing period (annual plans: until the next billing anniversary), and the next invoice reflects fewer seats support.bolt.new

For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Retention step: Before the final Cancel subscription, the StackBlitz portal asks Are you sure you want to cancel?, then Why are you cancelling? (pick a reason), then Before you go (optional feedback)
- Cancelling is a downgrade to Free, not account deletion
- Teams plans are billed separately from Pro plans: someone with both has two subscriptions to cancel. Only team Admins see team billing
- Deleting a team permanently deletes all its projects for every member and can't be undone
- Pay-as-you-go hosting, if turned on, buys extra bandwidth and requests up to a spending cap; set it under your profile icon, Settings, Cloud, Change spending limit. At the cap the site pauses until usage resets
- The annual-upgrade instructions do not support upgrading an annual plan to monthly; they only describe upgrades to a higher annual tier. Availability of an annual downgrade or a switch to monthly billing is not stated.
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/bolt.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
Delete your account (separate from cancelling)
Cancelling stops the payments; deleting removes the account and its data. Delete-account page (rated easy).

Not confirmed yet
- How to cancel a Teams subscription outright is not documented; the help center covers only seats, the team billing page and deleting a team
- Whether a custom domain bought through Bolt keeps renewing after cancelling is not documented (the domains FAQ says to contact support about renewals)
- Bolt's own terms page (bolt.new/terms) couldn't be checked, so the StackBlitz Terms of Service, which cover Bolt, are used instead
- Enterprise renewal and notice terms depend on each written agreement and aren't public
- The help center does not mention app store billing, so no Apple or Google route is given
- Whether annual subscribers can schedule a downgrade to a lower paid annual tier or switch to monthly billing is not explicitly stated on the Billing page; its annual-plan restriction appears in the upgrade instructions.
