How to cancel Camtasia

Sign in at manage.techsmith.com, select Actions > View subscription next to the product, then Actions > Cancel subscription (direct orders: Turn off auto-renewal). Access lasts to the end of the paid period. Gotcha: cancelling a Legacy License Subscription (former maintenance) is final, because it is no longer sold.

The short answer

  • Where: Go to manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account (manage.techsmith.com).
  • When it ends: The subscription isn't renewed; you keep access to the product until the end of the billing period, and you can un-cancel before the deactivation date.
  • Billed by someone else? Cancel with them instead: a partner.
  • Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options

Before you cancel

What happens to your data

After Screencast Pro ends, the account becomes a free Screencast account: videos not viewed within the last 12 months are removed, and after 60 days the Free account falls under Screencast's content deletion policy. Deleting the TechSmith account erases Screencast content and the keys, subscription history and invoices at manage.techsmith.com, and can't be undone.

What you lose

  • Access to the subscribed product once the billing period ends
  • Legacy License Subscription: version 2025 and later versions (previously purchased perpetual versions stay yours)
  • The Legacy License Subscription itself and its maintenance-based pricing, since it is no longer sold
  • Screencast videos not viewed within the last 12 months, once Screencast Pro ends
  • Uploading to Screencast until the video count is back to 25, once Screencast Pro ends

Cancel, by who bills you

Keep it for less

Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.

  • Free plan When a Screencast Pro subscription ends, the account switches to a free Screencast account: videos not viewed in the last 12 months are removed and uploads are blocked until you're back to 25 videos support.techsmith.com

For AI agents

  • The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
  • Cancelling stops the renewal only: access continues to the end of the billing period, and the subscription can be un-cancelled before the deactivation date
  • A subscription ID that begins with M doesn't auto-renew, so it won't be charged again: renew it manually on the Keys tab, or let it lapse
  • Free trials need no cancelling: TechSmith doesn't collect payment details for a trial, which simply expires
  • Cancelling a Legacy License Subscription (former maintenance) is final: it is no longer sold, and its maintenance-based pricing was guaranteed through 2030
  • Ask for a refund with TechSmith's return request form within 14 days, after uninstalling the software; refunds take 5 to 7 business days to reach your statement
  • Deleting the TechSmith account erases license keys, invoices and Screencast content permanently; it is separate from cancelling

Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/techsmith.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.

Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
