The short answer
- Where: Go to the Billing page under your Settings (app.restream.io).
- When it ends: You keep paid features until the end of the billing period; a cancelled free trial drops the account to the Free plan.
- Before you go: export Stream recordings. What to save
- Want to keep it for less? Free plan and more. Options
Before you cancel
Export first
- Stream recordings: Recordings are saved automatically in your Restream video storage; download the ones you want to keep from there. Recordings are kept 15 days on Standard and Professional and 30 days on Business, then can't be retrieved. Free accounts don't save recordings, and deleting the account erases them support.restream.io support.restream.io
What happens to your data
Cancelling doesn't remove the account: channels and stream settings stay if you resubscribe. Recordings expire 15 or 30 days after they're made, depending on the plan. Deleting the account permanently erases recordings, analytics and destinations.
What you lose
- Paid features at the end of the billing period
- Any discount that was applied to your plan
- Saving new recordings, which needs a paid plan
- Recordings once they expire: they can't be retrieved
Cancel, by who bills you
Pick the route for whoever charges you: the name on your card statement or receipt tells you.

Keep it for less
Before cancelling, check whether one of these does the job. Offers change and differ by account.
- Free plan Restream's Free plan streams to 2 channels at once (with Restream branding); recordings aren't saved on free accounts restream.io support.restream.io
- Cheaper plan Switch to a cheaper paid plan from the Billing page; downgrades apply after the end of the current billing period. To go from yearly to monthly billing, cancel the yearly plan and resubscribe monthly when it ends support.restream.io
For AI agents
- The person signs in and handles any two-factor code; an agent should never ask for a password.
- Retention step: You're asked to select a cancellation reason (feedback optional) before the final Cancel Subscription button
- Cancelling doesn't delete the account; Delete My Account in account settings is separate and irreversible
- The Clips add-on has its own Cancel Subscription button on the billing page
- Refunds only for first-time subscribers within 7 calendar days; renewals, charges after a free trial and upgrades aren't covered
- Discounts on your plan are lost once you cancel
- Download recordings first: they expire after 15 or 30 days and can't be recovered
- In a workspace, billing is tied to the owner's personal account
Get this plan as data: get_exit_plan on the Stackcut MCP (stackcut.io/mcp), or /exits/restream.json. After using a guide, send structured report_guide_feedback for matching or changed steps, missing billing routes or human handoffs; keep unknown language and market omitted. Confirm with the person before the final click, and report the outcome with report_action_outcome, using the exact packet_revision and route_id returned by the plan.
Or give your agent the stackcut-leave skill (a zip): it exports first, walks the steps, stops when the page doesn't match, and leaves the final click to the person.
